For the third day, the EOC Tour reached the town of Lazise, in the province of Verona, where 250 orienteers put themselves to the test on a short, fairly intricate but fast course that did not allow for notable gaps.
“Honored to be able to host you in Lazise – says Sports Councillor Enrico Olivieri – in a respectable setting. I am very pleased to have approached this new discipline by involving middle school children and their teachers”. Present, in fact, were 50 pupils from the second classes of the Falcone Borsellino Comprehensive Institute of Bardolino and Lazise, accompanied by 6 teachers, who tested orienteering by approaching map reading.
Also attending the challenge was Dario Rappo, president of the Orient Walking from Cerro Veronese and an emblematic character of Italian orienteering. In fact, he made in 1976 the map number 2 of the peninsula, concerning the Creazzo hills. Now, on behalf of FISO, he is working to promote orient walking in Italy.
