The international orienteering season starts in Norway with the first round of the World Cup, scheduled for the weekend in Østfold, south of Oslo, and which will see the participation of 261 athletes representing 31 countries.
PWT Italy, led by Team Manager Gabriele Viale, will be present to bring forward the various projects that are taking place in 2023. On a sporting level, the two top athletes of the team Riccardo Scalet and Sebastian Inderst will be competing for the Italian team to put themselves to the test in this first world challenge.
“The Scandinavian competitions – comments Gabriele Viale – will serve to monitor the shape of Riccardo and Sebastian, less than three months away from the World Championships in Switzerland, the goal of the year for our orienteers together with the European Championships in October in Veneto”.
The organization of EOC 2023 will be the second major commitment of PWT Italy in Norway. “We have planned – continues Viale – a series of meetings with the IOF top management aimed at the Italian organization of the European Sprint Championships, valid as World Cup finals. Aspects relating to television productions and the setting up of the race arenas for the promotion of the locations and brand partners will also be discussed. ”.
In the Østfold race arena an infopoint dedicated to the EOC will be open, at which a brochure will be distributed specially created for the promotion of Veneto and the territorial excellence of Lake Garda that will host the event, including the lead Municipalities Verona, Soave, Vicenza and the magnificent Berici Hills.
Furthermore, for the occasion, the official jerseys and vests of the event will be distributed to the team of international ambassadors, who in the coming months will be testimonials of the appointment in the numerous races scheduled in Europe, as well as reference points for enthusiasts interested in participating.
